Since 2014, even before it was called TeraGeek, the community was already starting to meet up on TeamSpeak. But in 2015, a promising piece of software appeared on the scene: Discord. Discord aims to kill off the two leaders: Skype and TeamSpeak. Will we take the plunge?
Quote from official website of Discord:
"It's time to ditch Skype and TeamSpeak.

Quote from the most reactionary among us:
What is TeamSpeak? Quit TeamSpeak? But this software is my life!
Yes, I know... You have your own habits with TeamSpeak, perhaps even a sentimental attachment to the software. But because we're not -overall- If you're not old fogies and the question of the transition to Discord really arises, I'd like to ask you to try it out and give your opinion as constructively as possible using the means of your choice (Discord chat, Forum, comment on the article, etc.). As we all know, if I don't force you, most of you will never test Discord, so next week TeamSpeak will be unusable and will ask you to join Discord.
Official test of the TeraGeek Discord
From Monday 29 January to Sunday 4 February
TeamSpeak VS Discord: Why one or the other?
In short, we're comparing two closed software packages, each of which is imperfect. One, TeamSpeak, is hosted by us and therefore offers exemplary confidentiality and reliability, but with an appearance and ergonomics reminiscent of the 2000s, all with a paying licence or free under certain conditions; the other, Discord, is generally much neater and more pleasant, and is multi-platform with its pleasant and free mobile application, but does not allow you to control the server and the potential use of the data.
So, will Discord really bury TeamSpeak despite some fears? After all, even France insoumise has joined Discord (and even invented according to TF1), so why not us, the target users of Discord?
To give you an idea of the main differences between the two, I've put together a fairly detailed table (if you think of any other criteria you'd like to add, please let me know).

Are you convinced? To find out, all you have to do is try!
