Foreword

The TeraGeek Community is a not-for-profit association providing virtual services to connect gamers, as well as knowledge and hosting for online services. The whole thing works on a donation basis.

The main aims of this site are:

  • Membership census
  • Informing members
  • Connecting members
  • Sharing knowledge
  • Community funding

Protecting users' data and respecting their wishes and privacy are absolute priorities.

Site economics

The TeraGeek Community is funded by its main founder. We do our best to keep this site free of advertising.

The community is not-for-profit and is committed to using 100% of donations and income to fund services dedicated to the community: servers, infrastructure, hardware, external services, software, salaries, etc.

Data protection and RGPD

Data collected

In order to fulfil the functions of the site, you will be asked to provide certain information when you register. This data is kept in your profile on the site and therefore by the TeraGeek Community for the entire period of your registration and the existence of the community.

The following information about you is kept by the TeraGeek Community:

  • Email address - For your registration and information
  • Nickname - To recognise you among the members without displaying any data that would reveal your real identity
  • Name (optional)
  • Address (optional) - To be contacted by post if absolutely necessary and as a last resort, or to receive a gift following a competition.
  • Telephone number (optional) - To be contacted in case of urgent need
  • Description of your profile (optional) - To introduce yourself to the community
  • Registration date - Kept by WordPress, it may be used for impersonal statistical purposes or to verify your registration on request.
  • IP address - This is stored in the logs for up to 24 months, enables impersonal visitor statistics to be generated and can be used to resolve any technical problems.
  • Cookies - Cookies are only used to keep a connection session open on the site. We do not use them for commercial purposes.

No other personal data is collected or used directly by the TeraGeek Community.

Confidentiality

We undertake not to resell or redistribute your personal data stored on the site.
This information is not intended for distribution or communication to third parties, unless required by law.

Data security

We do our utmost to ensure maximum safety.

  • Visits and connections to the site are made exclusively via secure SSL/TLS (HTTPS) connections, protecting the information exchanged between you and the server from prying eyes.
  • Your password is stored in encrypted form; it is also verified by systematic encryption at each connection using a one-sided algorithm, all in a secure HTTPS connection; it is therefore at no time visible in clear text or decipherable either by the TeraGeek Community or by a third party.
  • Updates, in particular security updates for the server, the site and its modules, are carried out on a daily basis.
  • A security vulnerability test is carried out on the site every 3 months and a security scan is performed daily.
  • The server is secured by hardware and software firewalls and various IP filtering and anti-bruteforce protections.

Newsletters

The community's policy is to send as few emails as possible and to contact you directly only in the event of a major change.
All emails sent as part of a newsletter include a link at the bottom of the email so that you can easily unsubscribe from the list.

Right to be forgotten

You can request the deletion of your account and data at any time using the contact details below.

Failure to honour commitments

If, despite all our measures, piracy or a breach of contract should occur :

  • In the event of a data leak, the users concerned will be contacted within 72 hours and services will be suspended until the data has been secured.
  • All requests for compliance will be processed within 72 hours of receipt.

If your request is not processed within 72 hours, it may be due to a technical problem. In this case, we strongly advise you to go through the web host. All community data and services are hosted in France, with the exception of the external donation and payment module. PayPal.
