Community statistics at the end of 2014

statistics3As 2014 draws to a close, it's a good time to take stock of the community. proposed name change which will be the subject of a new survey with several proposals, we're going to talk statistics!

As a reminder, the community was created in April with a forum, and in the first few days had around fifteen founding members.

It then grew little by little until it reached around sixty stable members. A few Gmod servers attracted new people, then a month and a half ago I created the associated site, with the forum integrated into it, and better visibility for our servers. At the same time, the arrival of DarkRP literally created an explosion of new members, although not always very active or loyal. We now have new members every day, with 10 signing up in 3 days as I write this message, for example, and we currently have 130 members. Of course, not all of them are active, but still!

Come on, statistics mean graphs, so let's get to it!

First of all, I'd like to point out that a page from the site is displayed on connection on most Gmod servers, which has a considerable effect on the figures.

Here's a graph showing the number of unique visitors since the major overhaul of the site on 28 October.

daily visitors

We can already see that the pace is accelerating, with an average of 485 visitors per day over the past week and 324 per day over the month. With a total of 13947 unique visitors, and 228083 pages viewed! And yet!

visits vs visitors

Focus on Europe:

And finally, out of curiosity, the browsers used, with a crushing 88% victory for Google Chrome! 6% for Firefox, and 3% for Internet Explorer all the same! Visits from Gmod are not counted here, as the browser is 'unknown'.

browsers

So there you have it, I just want to say, here's to seeing it through, and to quality gaming in 2014!

Exclusive info for those who've read all the way to the end => We're making a Rust server, and we're going to give it our all on GTA V!

And also, we're almost at saturation point with all the game servers we have, so if you want to support us so that we can build even more servers=> Donate!

Happy holidays to you all!

I'll never, ever fall for Chrome, never, and Internet Explorer still exists? I thought it was finally dead.

It's still the default browser on Windows, but fortunately people are starting to be educated and abandon it, especially in our community of young people with a modicum of tech-savviness!

On the other hand, since we're on the subject... The other time I put WireShark, an internet activity monitor on my PC: Well, Chrome sends data to Google at the slightest action, and I'm not even talking about opening Chrome. At the same time, it syncs settings, apps, favourites etc, so it's normal, but still. Well, I tested it with freshly installed Firefox with nothing in it: Same! Opera: Same but a little less violent. In short, you shouldn't think you're anonymous on the internet ;)

Young people who are at least technophiles?! I'd like to remind you that there aren't that many of them, apart from turning things on and off, which is all most of them know how to do properly (and even then I sometimes doubt it...). Our young people don't feel targeted, but if you see the cases of certain computers with their so-called "computer scientist" friends, it's still frightening...

I can confirm that as soon as you start using non-basic software, it's the end of the world!

That's normal, as many bots come from Russia.

Not necessarily, on gmod sv_region 0 servers like the Sled, there are lots of Russians!
