GTA V postponed (surprise!), info and minimum system requirements

And yes, we all feared it... with 15 days to go before launch, we were thinking "no news, good news", but no! Rockstar has just announced quite a few things in a blog post, including a revised release date for our long-awaited PC version: 24 March 2015

To make amends, they have finally given the recommended configuration4K screenshots of the PC version, as well as a bit of information, particularly about multiplayer.

Of course, we get the usual spiel:

"We're sorry to have had to change the release date, but the game still needs a few weeks of testing and fine-tuning to be as polished as possible when it's released. It's never pleasant to have to postpone a release date, but we only take this decision when it's in the best interests of the game and our fans. We thank you for your understanding and can assure you that the game will be well worth the wait.

If Rockstar says it's worth it... Let's hope that the optimisation, multiplayer and abandonment of Windows Live Games will make it an excellent game!

So let's come back to what has just been said and what we know:

Multiplayer

- Games for up to 30 players

- Heists" extension due to arrive around the same time as the PC version

- Ability to create gameplay videos directly with the Rockstar Editor and publish them on Youtube and the Rockstar Social Club

Mandatory, minimum, recommended configuration

Mandatory configuration :

- Operating system 64 Bits only, Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8 and 8.1 (Vista not recommended, and Nvidia graphics card preferable under Vista)

- Hard disk space 65 GB

- Sound card 100 % compatible with DirectX 10 (normally all)

- DVD player (for the boxed version only, we hope!)

Minimum configuration :

- Processor : Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core (4 CPUs) @ 2.5 GHz
- RAM: 4 GB
Graphics card NVIDIA 9800 GT 1 GB / AMD HD 4870 1 GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)

Recommended configuration :

- Processor Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2 GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4 GHz (8 CPUs)
- RAM : 8 GB
- Graphics card NVIDIA GTX 660 2 Go / AMD HD7870 2 Go

Debriefing

Basically, you need at least: Windows 7/8 64-bit, a Quad-Core from 2011, 8GB of RAM, a graphics card with 2GB of RAM that's less than 3 years old (and not low-end), more than 100GB of free disk space (if you want to have any left over, especially for DLC and updates or your gay porn).

Note that only 64-bit versions of Windows are accepted! Which means: 64-bit gaming! And that's a good thing, because it has to suck up a lot of RAM, and 32-bit systems limit the use of RAM for an application to 3GB. Which means fewer micro lags and occasional jerks when you move around the map? We hope so! If you don't know whether your Windows is 32 or 64 bits, under Windows 7, go to 'Start' then right-click on 'Computer' and select 'Properties'. And that's it, the info is right there in the middle of the screen, under your nose.

In the end, we still don't know if we'll be able to create our own server, but in any case... It's beautiful! And it should be well worth it!

I'm sharing all the screenshots they provided, if you click you'll see them in 4K!

Oh boy! I'm way ahead of the recommended configuration!
By the way Bolov darling, I've fixed the connection problem! Although I don't know why it worked....

I have no idea either! I tried to log in, but it didn't work. I then decided in a last-ditch attempt to delete my browsing history and HOP, it worked!

Thanks for the info! Only valid on Steam, right? 60€ more expensive than on Amazon.

I saw it on steam, yes.
However, with the pre-order bonus, it's really worth it. In my memories of Xbox 360 games, the 800,000$ offered is a very hard sum to raise, given that most activities don't give more than 30,000$! (Well, most of them give between 100 and 5000$) What's more, everything is expensive online (flat at 300 000$, most expensive car = 2M$).
But perhaps with the imminent arrival of the Heists things will change!

Well, I've just learned that it's been postponed again, this time until 14 April. Sad, isn't it?

They're still adding 200,000GTAO$, so we're down to 1M$ to start with online!
That's how much we can spend on death-defying supercars!
