I have noticed that many registrants have not validated their registration. To do this, you need to click on the link sent to your e-mail address when you registered.
Users who have not validated their registration before this Monday 30th March will be cancelled, so you'll have to register again!
But I haven't received anything!
"Boloss, didn't anyone ever teach you how to check your spam? Yes, I know it's a bit crude but... This email may have landed in the spam/unwanted folder. Please check. In Gmail, as apparently some people haven't understood (I won't name names!): you need to unfold the menu of mail folders (left sidebar) to see "Spam" (not to be confused with "unwanted").
For Hotmail, Live and other users... Use another provider, Microsoft blocks all IPs by default, so you'll have to wait for them to unblock ours. You'll have to wait for them to unblock ours (which they usually do, although there's still a risk that your emails will be spammed).
But why does it happen in spam?
It's very difficult to have your own mail server and be recognised as a legitimate sender by Google, Hotmail, Yahoo and others. SPF, DKIM key system, rDNS... It's a real mess! The good news is that this spam problem is hopefully on the way to being solved. We'll have the answer in 24 hours, and if it finally works, I'll send the confirmation email to all the non-validated subscribers.
I can't connect!
For those registered since December who suddenly no longer have access to the site, this will be sorted out on Monday or Tuesday. Otherwise, you can always come and give me your username on TeamSpeak so that I can sort it out, but I won't be able to sort it all out at once without having sorted out the registrants who haven't validated their email.
But why is he so mean?
BECAUSE! Mind you, if you're allergic to technology, you can skip the next paragraph.
Our site is made up of a WordPress (site/blog system with numerous plugins, admin interface and user management) and a PHPBB forum (just as complete). The difficulty was to link the users of both... To do this, I use the WP-United plugin which is interesting but temperamental, and had in fact caused the forum problems following an update. So I deactivated this plugin as well as the PHPBB forum, and installed BBPress, a forum plugin for WordPress, into which I imported the PHPBB forum. Except that BBPress didn't convince anyone over PHPBB... So even if it was simpler, we didn't want to stick with this disgusting forum. In short, when WP-United is running, if a user logs in or registers, they do so via PHPBB, and the user is also automatically created in WordPress. Except that since the plugin has been deactivated for several months, the people who have registered have done so via WordPress only. Are you beginning to understand? You're registered on WordPress but not counted in PHPBB, and the connection is made via PHPBB, so it's no longer possible. Of course, there's a way for me to add users manually to PHPBB afterwards, except that it mixes up the users waiting to be validated with the validated users, and in the space of a few months there have been several hundred of them... So I'm not going to check them one by one, but proceed as follows: those who didn't validate on Monday: deleted, and all the others: WordPress/PHPBB integration.
Reminder: It's always more fun to talk and play together! Come to TeamSpeak!
Welcome to the newcomers and enjoy the game!
MAJ 28/03/2015:
Mail-Tester tells us that we are no longer recognised as spam following the changes made (change of Reverse, implementation of DKIM and DMARC in addition to SPF, change of PTR to mesnie.org instead of a bizarre reverse, etc.). I've also asked Microsoft not to recognise me as spam. Wait and see Commies! Maybe it's time for an update...
